General Maintenance Laborer

The Village of Williamsburg is seeking a General Maintenance Laborer. This position reports directly to the Street Department Supervisor and is primarly responsible for a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks for the operation and maintenace of streets, water distribution, sanitary sewer & storm water systems and other Village owned property and equipment. Ideal candidate will possesses the ability to effectively communicate  with elected officials, employees and general public, as the Public Works Department is highly recognized  throughout our community.

Qualifications include but are not limited to knowledge and experience with public works equipment and tools. Requirements include high school diploma or equivilant, a valid Ohio Drivers' License and possess or have the ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers' License within 12 months. Work is physically demanding and requires occasional evening and weekend work.

School Resource Officer Vacancy

The Williamsburg Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of full time SRO. The starting wage for SRO is $17.00 an hour including an excellent benefit package. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, have a current OPOTA certification, possess a valid driver's license, high school diploma or GED, degree from an accredited College or University is preferred and must have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a patrol officer or SRO is also preferred.

The Resource Officer will be responsible for law enforcement on school campuses, provides guidance to students, serves as a liaison between the school and Village, assists in public relations, and participates in educational programs. The SRO position will work 185 days within the Williamsburg Local School District and the remaining 75 days will be performing routine patrol dutires for the Village of Williamsburg.

Applicants must be physically fit for duty and be able to perform the essential functions of police work. Applicants must also pass a complete back ground investigation, polygraph exam, psychological assessment and physical exam including a drug and alcohol screen. Qualified candidates will be invited to set for the written examination.
