Compost Facility

The Village of Williamsburg Compost Facility is open Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., from April 15 to October 1. This facility is located on McKeever Pike. This facility is available free of charge to all Village residents.  The facility is open to non-Village residents for a small fee.

This facility can accept grass clippings, leaves, and chipped brush.  If residents have brush that is not chipped, they are asked to leave this curbside for pick-up. Brush that is not chipped can be accepted, but this is not encouraged.

 Usage Requirements for Village Residents:

Village residents may use the compost facility at no charge – but must provide proof of Village residency to the attendant in the form of one of the following:

a. Valid photo ID showing Village address (i.e.: Driver’s License, Military ID, etc)

b. Utility bill (Village, Cinergy, Cincinnati Bell, Adelphia, etc) with name and Village address and photo ID.

Non-Village Resident Requirements:

Non-Village residents must obtain “Permit to Dump” from Village office prior to using compost facility.  This permit may be obtained during regular office hours ONLY (Monday –  Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) for a fee of $5.00.

Once paid, non-residents will receive a permit that must be given to the attendant prior to using the facility.  This permit is good for one load of compost only.

Permits may be purchased throughout the compost season for the $5.00 fee (not to exceed $50.00 per calendar year).  Once individuals have paid this amount – they will receive the permit at no cost from the office.  Regardless of whether payment is due, non-resident users must have the permit in hand to use the facility.

Public Works employees are not bonded and thus, cannot accept money for services at the time of use.  Due to this regulation – out of Village residents wishing to use the compost facility must obtain their permit from the Village office in advance of using the facility.

Dumping material at this facility outside of regular operating hours will be considered illegal dumping and trespassing.  Violators will be prosecuted.
